Shoreline Library

Nestled under large native Western Red Cedar trees, King County’s Shoreline Library staff wanted to provide an outdoor reading room as part of an expansion to their parking lot. Great care was taken to work around the trees and tuck the seating rocks into the adjacent steep slope. Invasive ivy was removed and native plants were used throughout. The project also included pedestrian access from the adjacent neighborhood, buffering of the new parking area, and streetscape elements.
